Originally composed in 1837, the Grande Messe des morts (or Requiem), Op. 5, by Hector Berlioz is one of his best-known works. It was composed to remember soldiers who died in the French Revolution of July 1830. This first edition book was printed on February 1st, 1960 in Switzerland and was limited to 200 copies. The English text is across from the Latin and the book is filled with lovely religious images from famous painters such as Hieronymus Bosch and Stephen Lochner.
